<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a fuel cell, a membrane electrode assembly, and the fuel cell wherein a stable output can be supplied even at high temperatures and power generation performance can be kept for a long period. <P>SOLUTION: This is the electrode for the fuel cell composed of a catalyst layer containing a catalyst composite equipped with a proton conductive inorganic oxide equipped with a catalyst carrier A selected from Sn-doped In<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, F-doped SnO<SB>2</SB>, or Sb-doped SnO<SB>2</SB>, an oxide particle phase B chemically bonded to the catalyst carrier surface, and an oxidation-reduction catalyst phase C carried on that surface, and containing a binder, as well as the membrane electrode assembly and the fuel cell equipped with it. The catalyst composite is manufactured by dispersing the catalyst carrier into a solution containing a material which becomes a raw material of the oxide particle phase to form the proton conductive inorganic oxide by heat treatment, furthermore dispersing the proton conductive inorganic oxide into the solution containing a catalyst precursor, and depositing a catalyst phase by heat treatment or pH adjustment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
