<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightened weather strip with a U-sectioned insert capable of restraining deterioration of strength and a fastening force. <P>SOLUTION: This weather strip 4 has a trim part 5 and a seal part 6. The trim part 5 has a vehicle inner wall 11, a vehicle outer wall 12, and a connection part 13, and a metallic insert 14 is embedded inside the trim part 5. The insert 13 comprises rib pieces 31, and a center bonding part 32 connecting the respective rib pieces 31. Compared to thickness of both curve parts 44, 45 of the insert 14, the thickness of other portions except for both of the curve parts 44, 45 is reduced. The portion except for the curve parts 44, 45 is thinned, so as to thin the entire insert 14, thus the entire weather strip 4. Meanwhile, both of the curve parts 44, 45 are comparatively thick, so that predetermined strength and rigidity can be secured, and an initial shape can be easily held. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
