<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus capable of accurately eliminating bad influence resulting from deterioration in stream data, when compressed streams data are processed after decoding. <P>SOLUTION: A decoder 32 decodes an audio streams A3 of compressed data, and obtains an audio data A4a. An error check 34 performs error check during decoding. A quality determination portion 36 determines the quality of the audio data A4a based on the checked result by the error check 34. A control unit 38 controls a noise alleviation processor 40 according to the determined quality by the quality determination portion 36.
