PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously perform data recording operation even when the data recording becomes impossible in such a case that connection with a hard disk through a USB (Universal Serial Bus) cable is disconnected, etc. SOLUTION: A digital camera 100 assures a free area of a predetermined size in a memory card 110. Moreover, the digital camera 100 changes the recording area of the data from the hard disk 112 to a free space of the memory card 110 when detecting that data recording in the hard disk 112 becomes impossible.
