METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING AND DETECTING MESOTHELIUM-DERIVED TISSUE-SPECIFIC MARKER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a mesothelial cell- and mesothelium-derived tissue-specific marker. SOLUTION: The expression level(s) of one or more genes in the membrane tissue covering mammalian organs is(are) measured. Based on the result, a gene whose expression level is greater than those in organs or tissue containing no membrane tissue is selected. It is preferable that the gene thus selected express in either one membrane tissue including in vivo organ's mesothelium and the expression level be double or higher those in adipose tissue and one or more organs or tissues.
