PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a sideway flow of the foundation ground caused by the settlement of a banking structure regardless of existing arrangement and new arrangement, while efficiently restraining the sideway flow. SOLUTION: This banking structure 1 to be constructed or having been constructed on the foundation ground 2 has a sheet pile wall 4 oppositely inserted into the foundation ground in its width direction from both sides in the width direction of the banking ground 3 constituting banking and having the upper end positioned in a surface layer of the foundation ground 2, an earth retaining wall 5 out-fitted on the sheet pile wall 4 in the banking ground 3, joined to the upper end of the sheet pile wall 4 and opposed in the width direction, and a connecting material 6 installed between these opposed earth retaining walls 5 and 5.
