PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acrylic or a methacrylic ester-based compound for an energy ray-curable type resin forming an optical material having both high refractive index and high transparency without containing a halogen atom or a sulfur atom. SOLUTION: The acrylic or methacrylic ester-based compound for the energy ray-curable type resin is represented by general formula (1) and has≥1.56 refractive index (ND25) at 589 nm.
