<p>In a process to manufacture a multi-cell ceramic cordierite honeycomb filter for diesel engine exhausts, a clay-like quantity of cordierite is prepared. The mixture incorporates silicon, aluminum, magnesium and a solvent. The mixture incorporates no pore generation agent e.g. graphite. The clay-like material is extruded and formed into a green body. The green body is sub-divided into several sections of fixed length and then dried. The dried green body is then fired to create the honeycomb structure.</p> |
