摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the recording/reproducing of information correctly in a high density state by more stably floating a slider and to improve a scanning performance. <P>SOLUTION: The head gimbal mechanism 2 is provided with: a slider 10 arranged between a recording medium D and a beam 11 and having an element generating proximity field light; a gimbal means 12 fixing the slider to a tip of the beam 11 in a state in which the slider is parallel to the surface of the recording medium and is rotatable freely around two shaft being orthogonal each other; and a flexible optical waveguide 13 composed of a basic waveguide part 20 arranged along the beam and a bent waveguide part 21 bent in the Z direction being almost orthogonal to the surface of the recording medium from a tip of the basic waveguide part and connected to the slider in a non-contact state for the beam and the gimbal means and guiding luminous flux to the slider.
