<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve inflating characteristics of an air bag provided in a steering wheel, and to reduce the manufacturing cost thereof. <P>SOLUTION: In the air bag device 4 provided in a boss part 6 of the steering wheel 1, a tear line 36 is formed from a front plate part 31 to a peripheral plate part 32 of a cover body 23. The tear line 36 is formed into a slit in the peripheral plate part 32. When the tear line 35 is torn with inflation of the air bag 22, a tip part of an upper door part 35a abuts on a rim part 5 to cover a space for visibly confirming meters, and guides the air bag 22 so as to be smoothly inflated upward. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
