<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve power-saving and eliminate inconvenience to the user side with respect to the display of present time. <P>SOLUTION: The timepiece display device of an audiovisual instrument comprises a recording/playing section 1 for an audio source, a display section 4, a microcomputer 2 which has a timepiece and controls the recording/playing section 1 and the display section 4, and a switching section 6 for switching between a power-on mode for supplying the recording/playing section 1 and the microcomputer 2 with electricity and a stand-by mode for supplying the microcomputer 2 with electricity.
