PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for enhancing the throughput of a diagnostic analyzer. SOLUTION: This method for metering the sample arranged in the metering zone of the diagnostic analyzer includes a step for preparing the sample arranged in the metering zone of the diagnostic analyzer and a metering system equipped with a robot arm capable of extending from a pivot subjected to linear translation motion. The robot arm is accessible to a plurality of the sample points provided in the metering zone. The robot arm is moved to position the metering probe, which is arranged to the end part of the robot arm on the remote side of a pivot point, on one sample. The metering system for the diagnostic analyzer includes the linearly movable track attached to a guide rail, the rotatable robot arm attached to the track in a revolvable manner, and a metering head equipped with a probe for sucking and distributing a liquid and attached to the robot arm.
