PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a navigation system capable of informing the driver in a vehicle, even regarding a destination that is not indicated on an area guide signboard, at an intersection forward of the vehicle. SOLUTION: When a place name portion for a destination of "A-city" is specified by operating a touch panel from among place name portions for a destination in each movement direction that are indicated in a simulation image 32 in an area guide signboard, a rectilinear propagation direction that is a movement direction, corresponding to the location name portion for the destination of "A-city" is identified as the target direction, when informing a non-notified location name. Thus, "D-city" of the location name portion for the destination, at a next intersection, when the vehicle has advanced at an intersection 31 in a rectilinear propagation direction, is displayed in a display monitor 16 by a blow out 33 as a non-notified location name.
