<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a flat square wire, wherein the dimensional accuracy of thickness and width can be improved for a long time. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the flat square wire, the flat square wire C having the target thickness dimension and the target width dimension is manufactured by successively feeding a lead wire D having a circular cross section between two or more rolls. The final thickness dimension of the flat square wire C is measured on the downstream side of the final rolls 2 in the most downstream position and the gap dimension X<SB>2</SB>between the final rolls 2 is adjusted by comparing the size of the final thickness dimension with the target thickness dimension. Furthermore, the final width dimension of the flat square wire is measured on the downstream side of the final rolls 2 and the gap dimension X<SB>1</SB>of the rolls of the upstream rolls 1 which are on the next upstream side before the final rolls 2 is adjusted by comparing the size of the final width dimension and the target width dimension. The flat square wire C having the target thickness dimension and the target width dimension is manufactured by manufacturing an intermediate wire M having the optimum cross-sectional area with the upstream rolls 1 and feeding it to the final rolls 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
