<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display device which performs a processing defined to a button is performed on the basis of a position where a user stops pressing but which, even when the user stops pressing at a position outside the display area of a button or a menu by mistake, does not perform the processing in other sensing areas. <P>SOLUTION: A sensing area 21a is provided in the display area of a menu button 21, and a non-sensing area 71a is provided on the outer circumference of the menu button 21. The sensing area 21a is such an area that the processing defined to the menu button 21 is performed when the user stops pressing by lifting a finger from a touch panel 19 within this area. The non-sensing area 71a is such an area that no processing is performed even when the user stops pressing by lifting the finger from the touch panel 19 within this area.
