PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alarm capable of further effectively performing announcement by an optional message through a simple structure. SOLUTION: The alarm 10 comprises a detection means 6 for detecting at least one detected event; and an announcement means 4 for giving, upon detection of the detected event, an alarm voice containing a sound corresponding to the detected event for announcement. The alarm further comprises a voice data receiving means for receiving voice data in which an optional voice message is data-compressed; a voice data storage means 2 for storing the received voice data; and a data elongation means 3 for elongating the stored voice data.
