PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the residual quantity of water in water-repellent powder to a satisfactory low value in a short time in a process of drying wet water-repellent powder. SOLUTION: A half-finished products obtained as a mixture of PTFE powder and water is put on a conveying tray 70 and thrown into a manufacturing apparatus 10. In the manufacturing apparatus 10, the conveying trays 70 vertically arrayed pass a first drying zone 41, a second drying zone 42 and a heat treatment zone 43 in order. In the first drying zone 41, water contained in the half-finished products is evaporated by heating with microwaves. In the second drying zone 42, water remaining the half-finished item is evaporated by heating with hot air. In the heat treatment zone 43, the temperature of dried PTFE powder is kept about 160°C. The half-finished products on the conveying tray 70 passes the three zones in order to become PTFE powder as an end product. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
