PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a satisfactory picture image even in not only the center of a tomographic image but also end part thereof by generating an ultrasonic beam to which a focus is set so that a focus distribution changed by a change operation by an operation piece is obtained when the ultrasonic beam to be transmitted along a plurality of respective scanning lines is generated. SOLUTION: When the operation for changing focus distribution is done by mouse operation, a CPU part 101 calculates a focus position to be transmitted per scanning line, informs a beam scan control part 103 of it, reads a control data realizing a focus distribution closest to the focus distribution fixed at the focus position to be transmitted per scanning line from a memory part 102, and generates a control data realizing a desired focus distribution by compensating the control data. This data is transmitted to a control interface part 204, and a transmitting signal generation part of a transmission and reception part 201 receives the control by the control interface part 204 and generates a signal for generating a transmitting ultrasonic wave beam having a focus at the controlled position on a scanning line. |
