<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter transformer which makes the discharge lamp currents of discharge lamps uniform so as to make the discharge lamps equal in luminance. <P>SOLUTION: Primary sets of winding 3a and 3b and secondary sets of winding 4a and 4b are wound on the legs 2a and 2b of the square core 2 of the inverter transformer 1 located at the opposed positions. The secondary sets of winding 4a and 4b are wound on the legs 2a and 2b respectively so as to be strongly magnetically coupled with each other and to enable magnetic fluxesΦ1 andΦ2 generated by currents (currents flowing through discharge lamps) flowing through the secondary sets of winding 4a and 4b to cancel each other out. When high-frequency voltages e1 and e2 are applied to the primary sets of winding 3a and 3b by a driving circuit 7, a magnetic flux is generated by a current difference between the lamp currents i1 and i2 of the secondary sets of winding 4a and 4b to act on the secondary sets of winding 4a and 4b, the lamp currents i1 and i2 become equal to each other, and the luminance of the discharge lamp 6a is balanced with that of the discharge lamp 6b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
