Lift belt for a lift system and method for manufacturing such a lift belt

Claimed is an extruded belt to lift and lower a lift (elevator) cabin. The belt consists of an elongated backing strip (13) with embedded steel wires (14.1) in pairs under a series of truncated elastic (15) (15.1) profiles (15.1). Each wire of a pair is separated from the adjacent wire by a polymer profile of circular or dumbbell cross section. Each pair of wires is separated from the adjacent pair by a polymer block of essentially rectangular cross section.
