Fuel pump for a combustion engine

The pump has a connecting device for mounting a housing (7) at an internal-combustion engine (1). A protection device (8) is provided for the protection of the pump from damages. The protection device has a bracket (9) that is attached to the internal combustion engine by using connecting devices (12). The connecting devices are flushed with the housing in a path extending direction from an attaching level of the pump to the internal combustion engine. The housing and the bracket are attached to a cylinder head (3) of the internal-combustion engine.
