A backlight unit, a manufacturing method thereof and a display device are provided to connect a plurality of point light source substrates electrically through simple configuration. A plurality of point light source substrates(50a,50b) comprises a substrate main body, a power supply line(53) formed in the substrate main body, and a pad unit(52) formed in the substrate main body and connected to the power supply line. Point light sources(60) are mounted on each point light source substrate, and receive power through the power supply line. A metal member(70) connects the pad units respectively installed in the plural adjacent point light source substrates.
