摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To feel a gear shift by selecting a manual gear shift stage so that a down shift can be caused irrespective of operating conditions when an operation mode is switched from an automatic gear shift mode to a manual gear shift mode under a low load. SOLUTION: When the operation mode is switched from the automatic D mode to the manual M mode during traveling under low load, a first target input speed Nio(1) determined based on a transmission input speed at that time and a second target input speed Nio(2) corresponding to a minimum transmission input speedα(Nimin) for generating a required engine brake force at D-to-M shift determined for each vehicle speed, whichever larger High[Nio(1), Nio(2)=Nimin], is taken as a target input speed. The gear shift control is performed so that the low side manual gear stage nearest the High[Nio(1), Nio(2)=Nimin] can be selected. On the other hand, if D-to-M shift is performed when Nio(1) becomes E3 point or equivalent, High [Nio(1), Nio(2)] becomes E3 point or equivalent Nio(1).
