METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING/RECEIVING INFORMATION USING RANDOM ACCESS PROCEDURE IN WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM

A method and an apparatus for transceiving information by using random access procedure in a mobile communication terminal are provided to define a random access code efficiently used in the random access procedure between the mobile communication terminal and a BS so that the mobile communication terminal can transmit efficiently necessary information to the BS through the random access procedure. A method for transceiving information by using random access procedure in a mobile communication terminal performing BS(Base Station) scheduling comprises the following steps of: setting a cause information value according to the triggering purpose of the random access procedure when the random access procedure is triggered(331); selecting additional information determined by the set cause information value and setting a value corresponding to the additional information(333); extracting a random access code mapped to the set value referring to a predetermined random access code table(335); and transmitting the extracted random access code to a BS through a random access channel(341).
