METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR LOSELESS ENCODING AND DECODING IMAGE

A lossless encoding and decoding method of a moving picture and an apparatus thereof are provided to calculate the difference between pixels of the inside of a residual block by the inter prediction result and to code formed differential residual blocks. A prediction about an input image is performed with a predetermined block size and then a prediction block corresponding to the present block for coding is produced. A residual block consisting of residual signals corresponding to the difference between the pixels of the prediction block and the pixels corresponding to the present block is produced(720). The difference value between the residual signals for constructing the residual block is calculated according to the predetermined direction and the differential residual block is produced on the basis of the calculated difference value. Thereafter, the entropy coding of the differential residual block is performed(730).
