POLYMER FOCUSING OPTICAL GRATING COUPLER AND OPTICAL PRINTED CIRCIUT BOARD

A polymer focusing optical waveguide grating coupler and an optical PCB(Printed Circuit Board) are provided to reduce the cost by simplifying the process and to control the thickness of a polymer layer stacked by an injection and spin coating method. A polymer focusing optical waveguide grating coupler(1) is composed of a silicon substrate(10); a silica cladding layer(20) deposited on the upper surface of the silicon substrate; a silicon core layer(30) which is an optical waveguide formed on the upper surface of a lower cladding layer to guide the beam; and a polymer core layer(40) having a grating region(41) vertically joining the beam incident through the core layer. The grating region comprises plural gratings of a predetermined period formed on the upper surface of the polymer core layer.
