An airtight container operated by a vacuum valve is provided to maintain combining force of a lid although the sealed airtight container is released by the inflow of the air, by forming a settling projection at the inner periphery of the lid and a guide at the outer periphery of a container body. In an airtight container(1) operated by a vacuum valve, a lid(3) equipped with the vacuum valve in the center and a packing(5) at the rim is sealed to an airtight container body(2). A settling projection(23) is protruded inward at the inner periphery of the lid. A guide(25) is protruded outward at the outer periphery of the container body corresponding to the settling projection. When the lid is turned and installed at the container body, the guide is positioned at the upper part of the settling projection. A hanging sill(24) is formed at the upper part at one end of the settling projection. The rotation of the guide is stopped as the guide is hung to the hanging sill. An inclined plane is formed on the other side of the settling projection in the predetermined size and gradually widened from the other side to the hanging sill.
