A waste container 40 for domestic or industrial refuse is generally triangular in plan so as to fit into a corner of a building, or be grouped with others around a corner or around a fixing post. The lid 52 comprises a fixed rear portion and a hinged front portion, and is generally domed in shape. The front wall 41 of the container includes a lifting arrangement such as a comb bar engageable by a refuse collection vehicle to empty the container. Two side walls 42 are closer together at the back than at the front, thus producing the generally triangular shape in plan (Figures 1-3) or generally the shape of a trapezium in plan with a narrow rear wall 43 as shown. The container may have wheels (13, Figure 1), castors or feet 48. |
