This invention provides a method for image formation using an electrophotographic process that can provide an image with high resolution, causes no significant image defect even in repeated use, can render the image defect inconspicuous even under strict conditions of high resolution and has excellent electric properties. An electrophotographic photoreceptor for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on its surface with a polymer toner is also provided. The electrophotographic photoreceptor is characterized by comprising a photosensitive layer containing a polymer comprising repeating units having a partial structure represented by formula (1).
