A portable terminal having a user information providing function and a method thereof are provided to increase the convenience of users by enabling a user to move to a desired function easily by a key input and to confirm, edit, and use the user information of the desired function. A portable terminal having a user information providing function comprises a memory(54), a control part(55), and a display part(56). The memory stores programs to enable a user to shift from the user information of an ongoing function to the user information of a certain function through the input of a specific key. The control part, when the specific key is inputted, executes a control operation to move from the user information of the ongoing function to the user information of the certain function. The display part displays the user information of the ongoing function or the user information of the certain function.
