Process for determination or testing of a coupling position of a vehicle engine connecting rod coupling automated by an Aktor (sic) using the coupling torque transferred from the coupling (sic). In the current coupling position a first transferred coupling torque is determined by a first method and a second transferred coupling torque by a second method on the basis of existing (sic) engine data. The difference between the two methods is determined so that the assumed coupling position corresponds to the true coupling position and the difference is less than a predetermined threshold limit. An independent claim is included for a device for determination or testing of a coupling position of a vehicle engine connecting rod as described above.
