A method and an apparatus for managing session allocation numbers in an EV-DO(EVolution-Data Optimized) service system are provided to increase a security level by preventing a variation of a session allocation number without a consent between a system manager and a DLM user. When a session allocation number is changed, a DLM(Data Location Manager)(500) transmits a session allocation number change request message including the session allocation number to be changed and a preset password. A DLR(Data Location Register)(400) stores the session allocation number and performs an authentication algorithm by using a prestored host ID, an authentication ID, and the session allocation number. The DLR compares the authenticated result with the password and changes the prestored session allocation number to a new value when the authenticated result is identical to the password.
