An enantioselective epoxide hydrolase of Mugil cephalus is provided to be used for developing a highly active recombinant enzyme by cloning the same into E. coli to prepare a highly active epoxide such as styrene oxide with high efficiency, thereby capable of solving problems of lowering yield, low optical purity and lowering of productivity caused by low epoxide hydrolase activity. An enantioselective epoxide hydrolase of Mugil cephalus consists of an amino acid sequence described in SEQ ID : NO. 2. A method for producing the enantioselective epoxide hydrolase is characterized in that the hydrolase is produced in a water-soluble form from a microorganism transformed by a vector including a polynucleotide encoding the enantioselective epoxide hydrolase. A method for preparing an epoxide enantiomer comprises a step of hydrolyzing a racemic epoxide compound using the enantioselective epoxide hydrolase, a cell transformed by using the vector including the polynucleotide, a cell culture material of the cell, or a culture solution. |
