A discharge valve assembly in a linear compressor is provided to preclude eccentric abrasion of a discharging valve and prevent leakage of refrigerant by guiding motion of the discharging valve. A discharge valve assembly in a linear compressor comprises a cylinder(104), a piston(102), a discharging cover(116), a discharging valve(112), a guide member(200) and an elastic member(114). The piston has a compressing space between the cylinder to be reciprocated inside the cylinder and compresses refrigerant flowed into the compressing space. The discharging cover is positioned at one end of the cylinder to have a discharging space for discharging the refrigerant compressed at the compressing space. The discharging valve is placed between the cylinder to open the compressing space and the discharging cover. The guide member installed between the discharging cover and the discharging valve guides motion of the discharging valve. The elastic member supports the discharging valve.
