An insect-proof board is provided to take lasting insecticidal effect by fixing an insecticide to the surface of a coated substrate using colloidal silica as a medium. An insect-proof board is formed to produce the lasting insecticidal effect by applying an insecticidal treatment liquid including an insecticide in a liquid aqueous colloidal silica dispersion on the surface of a coating film of a coated substrate and drying to form an insecticidal layer to a thickness of 30~80‘“, wherein the insecticidal treatment liquid is composed of 0.1~2.0 weight percent colloidal silica, 2~10 weight percent alcohol, 0.01~0.25 weight percent surfactant, 0.01~5 weight percent insecticide which is pyrethroid based compounds for safety of the human body, and water in the balance amount.
