A method for estimating a vehicle speed in an electronic braking device is provided to perform the estimation of a vehicle speed, make a virtual vehicle speed value additionally with respect to the vehicle speed, and then perform a braking control operation based on the virtual vehicle speed value, so that ABS control failure is prevented in an anti-lock brake system. A virtual vehicle speed is estimated by using a preset deceleration value for an existing estimated vehicle speed used for a brake control operation in braking of an electro-mechanical brake(S120). One of rear wheels is selected, and a brake control operation is performed with respect to the selected wheel(S130). A new vehicle speed is estimated according to the speed of the selected wheel. A brake control operation is performed with respect to remaining wheels except for the selected rear wheel(S140). |
