An intermediate transfer unit for a color image forming apparatus is provided to compensate the tension of a transfer belt in real time through a tension roller and align rollers, thereby maintaining uniformly the rotation speed of the transfer belt. An intermediate transfer unit for a color image forming apparatus comprises a transfer belt(100), a driving roller(200), plural pressure rollers, plural transfer roller and a pressure elastic force adjusting unit(310,350). The transfer belt has a belt surface(110). The driving roller rotates the transfer belt. The plural pressure rollers provide a pressure elastic force to the belt surface in different directions. The plural transfer rollers contact the belt surface of the transfer belt. The pressure elastic force adjusting unit adjusts the pressure elastic force of the pressure rollers.
