A water cooling type air conditioner and a control method thereof are provided to maintain capacity regardless of variation of cooling water temperature supplied from outside to transfer heat to a condenser. A control method for a water cooling type air conditioner controls speed of a condenser according to the variation of condensing temperature. The controlling for the speed of the condenser consists of: a first step for measuring condensing temperature, a second step for differently setting suction pressure according to the variation of the condensing temperature measured from the first step, and a third step for controlling the speed of the condenser according to the suction press set from the second step.
