A linear compressor is provided to maintain an air gap formed between an inner stator and an outer stator and improve efficiency by having a surface area for maintaining the air gap. A linear compressor comprises a cylinder, an inner stator installed at the periphery of the cylinder, an outer stator(14), a frame(3) and a stator cover(5), and a surface area(100). The outer stator is placed at the periphery of the inner stator to have the inner stator and an air gap. The frame fixed at two sides of the outer stator includes a fixing part(30) corresponding to a core block of the outer stator. One of the frame and the stator cover has the surface area maintaining the air gap to prevent the outer stator from moving at the frame. The surface area which is annealed corresponds to the core block of the outer stator from the stator cover.
