摘要 A parking assistance system is provided to make it possible to use a low output electric power steering system by reducing sudden change of steering angle at the inflection point. A parking assistance system includes a key pad(112), a vehicle speed sensor(114), a steering angle sensor(116), an image sensor(118), an image processing module(122), a controller(124), and a steering controller(136). The key pad permits a user to select and input a parking system. The vehicle speed sensor detects the migration distance of a vehicle. The steering angle sensor detects the turning radius of the vehicle. The image sensor takes pictures of the space for parking. The image processing module measures relative position of the parking space using the image acquired by the image sensor. The controller generates parking trajectory mated to the relative position of the parking space measured by the image processing module, and calculates a steering angle required for the generated parking trajectory. The steering controller controls an electric power steering system in accordance with the steering angle calculated by the controller.
