A backlight assembly and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) including the same are provided to reduce a size of a mold frame by supporting a heat blocking plate through reflection sheets, thereby reducing molding costs and material costs. A backlight assembly(100) comprises plural lamps(150), a reflection sheet(160), a heat blocking plate(140) and a lower receiving vessel(170). The reflection sheet is disposed in a lower part of the lamp, and reflects light emitted from the lamp to an upper part. The reflection sheet includes a bottom surface and a couple of tilted-step type side walls. The side walls are respectively and upwardly prolonged from two facing sides of the bottom surface, and include upper supporting stages, lower supporting stages and tilted surfaces. The heat blocking plate is disposed in an upper part of the lamp, and mounted in the lower supporting stage of the reflection sheet. The lower receiving vessel receives the plural lamps, the reflection sheet and the heat blocking plate.
