A temporal error concealment method using an optical flow in H.264/AVC video standards is provided to reduce the amount of calculation by starting the calculation from a comparatively correct initial value by using the properties of the H.264/AVC standards including motion vector information in a minimum 4x4 unit, and reduce the degree of complexity significantly by limiting an OFR to four 16x16 sizes, and enable the restoration of a video with higher objective/subjective image quality. A temporal error concealment method using an optical flow in H.264/AVC(Advanced Video Coding) video standards comprises the following steps of: determining a speed vector in an OFR(Optical Flow Region) positioned at the up/down/right/left directions of a lost 16x16 macro block; and restoring the motion vector of the lost macro block into a 4x4 block unit by using the determined speed vector.
