An upright-type vacuum cleaner is provided to reduce the overall size of the vacuum cleaner and mount a plurality of accessories onto a cleaner body by forming support member where the cleaner body is mounted in a bar-shaped single frame having a width narrower than that of the cleaner body. An upright-type vacuum cleaner comprises a suction port assembly(20), a cleaner body(10), and a support member(30). The suction port assembly moves on a surface to be cleaned for suction of dust. The cleaner body in communication with the suction port assembly, comprises a dust collecting apparatus which separates and collects the dust from the air inhaled together with the dust from the surface to be cleaned, clarifies the air and discharges it to the outside. The support member whose lower end is hinged to the suction port assembly, is provided with a plurality of connecting parts along a longitudinal direction of the support member to mount a plurality of accessories(34a,34b,34c,34d) on its back side, and consists of a single frame that allows detachable connection of the cleaner body on its front side. The support member has a width narrower than that of the cleaner body with the plurality of accessories mounted on its back side and lateral sides. The cleaner body comprises an extension hose(16) whose one end is connected to a lower side of the cleaner body and the other end is a free end, wherein the extension hose is detachably fixed onto the cleaner body to surround the upper and lateral sides of the cleaner body.
