A rear view mirror device is provided to achieve improved efficiency of space utilization by arranging an on-board equipment terminal in the rear view mirror, and provide conveniently a wide variety of ITS services. A rear view mirror(10) includes a rear view mirror(12), a rear view mirror case(11), a rear view mirror support(13), an on-board equipment terminal(40), a connector(19), a button unit(20), a display(30), a speaker(35), and a GPS antenna(18). The rear view mirror case supports the rear view mirror, and is equipped with a device. The rear view mirror support is attached to a vehicle, and supports the rear view mirror case. The on-board equipment terminal is built in the rear view mirror case, and provides ITS services. The connector is arranged for interface with the on-board equipment terminal. The button unit is attached to the rear view mirror case, and operates the on-board equipment terminal. The display is attached to the rear view mirror case, and displays traffic information and operating state of the on-board equipment terminal. The speaker is attached to the rear view mirror case. The GPS antenna is built in the rear view mirror support. The on-board equipment terminal includes a card reader for reading a smart card(50), an application-specific integrated circuit for providing ITS services, a monolithic microwave integrated circuit for transmitting/receiving data to/from a base station through an antenna, an on-board equipment terminal antenna, and a GPS receiver(45) connected to the GPS antenna through the connector and receives a GPS signal.
