A transflective LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to increase a surface area of a reflective area by forming a surface area increase pattern in a side of an organic film composing a boundary surface between a reflective area and a transparent area, thereby significantly improving light reflection efficiency at the reflective area and accordingly improving image luminance and display quality. A lower substrate comprises the followings. A driving signal applying line includes plural gate lines(42) and data lines(41) arranged to cross each other on a plane view. TFTs(Thin Film Transistors)(40) are electrically connected to the driving signal applying line, and respectively disposed at an intersection between the gate lines and the data lines. A pixel unit(50) is formed within an area generated by crossing of the gate lines and the data lines, and includes a reflective area and a transparent area where its height is lower than the reflective area and an inner wall is included. A surface area increase pattern(70) is formed in the inner wall of the transparent area, and increase a surface area of the reflective area. An upper substrate faces the lower substrate, and an LC(Liquid Crystal) layer is interposed between the lower and upper substrates. |
