A process for preparation of gaseous sulphur trioxide from elementary sulphur comprises air compression, dehydration of compressed air, burning of sulphur, cooling of air-gas stream, conversion of sulphur dioxide to sulphur trioxide, heat recovery in economizers. Sulphur burning is carried out at pressure is not less than 1.6 MPa, by which the air compression is provided by means of pressure relieve of air-gas stream to 0.6 MPa and energy, obtained due to sulphur burning, realization of process of catalytic oxidation of sulphur dioxide to sulphur trioxide by means of its one-stage contacting. |
