A voice message service method and a mobile communication system employing the same are provided to provide a voice message service without additionally installing equipment by removing the necessity of storing voice messages according to each receiver. A voice message server receives a request for transmission of a voice message from a voice service user(S101). The voice message server creates a voice message(S103), and selectively receives receivers who will receive the created voice message(S105). Information of the receivers is requested and received from an AAA(Authentication, Authorization and Accounting) server(S107). Upon obtaining receiver information, the voice message server checks whether the receivers can use the service and format of the voice message file should be converted(S109,S113). When the receivers can use the service and format of the voice message file should be converted, the voice message server converts format of the created voice message to a designated format(S115). When the recipients can use the service but format conversion is not needed, the voice message server requests an LMSC(Long Message Service Center) to transmit the voice message(S117). The voice message server receives transmission result of the voice message from the LMSC(S119) and provides the transmission result to the service user(S121). |
