RESOLUTION CONTROLLER IN THE DISPLAY SYSTEM USING OPTICAL DIFFRACTIVE MODULATOR

An apparatus and a method for adjusting resolution in a display system using an optical diffractive modulator are provided to prevent the reduction of images by adjusting properly the resolution when the image data with the low resolution is inputted. An apparatus for adjusting resolution includes an image input unit(510), an image compensating unit(540), and an optic modulator driver(560). The image input unit receives image data from the outside. The image compensating unit converts low resolution image data received from the image input unit into high resolution image data and outputs the converted data. The optic modulator driver generates a driving voltage based on image data outputted from the image compensating unit and drives an optical diffractive modulator according to the driving voltage.
