A low profile connector is provided to prevent excessive transformation when connectors are joined and pulled out by forming reinforcing protrusions contacting the surface of a PCB, thereby joining and pulling out certainly a contact between the connectors and checking certainly the coupling of the connectors by obtaining the feeling of click during the coupling of the connectors by the protrusions of the contact portion of the contact. A low profile connector(1) comprises a base unit(2a1,2a2), a head unit(2b) and a contact unit(2c,5c). A contact(5) of a connector receptacle(1) mounted on a PCB(Printed Circuit Board)(4) is fixed to the housing(3) of the connector receptacle and is electrically connected to the PCB. The head unit is extended from the base unit along the surface(4a) of the PCB. The contact unit stands erect for the surface of the PCB from the head unit, and contacts elastically the contact of a connector plug(6) to be electrically connected to the connector plug. Reinforcing protrusions(2d1,2d2) are formed in the head unit between the base unit and contact unit of the contact to contact the surface of the PCB.
