An X-ray photographing apparatus and a method for cephalometric photographing using the same are provided easily to determine a position where an intensity of an X-ray is to be adjusted by having an indicator of simple structure. An X-ray photographing apparatus(100) includes an X-ray light source unit(160), an X-ray sensor(120), and an indicator(150). The X-ray light source unit emits an X-ray. The X-ray sensor detects the X-ray emitted from the X-ray light source unit. The indicator is contacted to an object(170) at the time of photographing. An intensity of the X-ray emitted from the X-ray light source unit is adjusted according to a position of the indicator. The X-ray photographing apparatus further includes a collimator(130) arranged to face the X-ray sensor. The X-ray sensor is a cephalometric sensor.
